About Chris Teskey
Senior Music Producer
Chris Teskey has been broadcasting bluegrass, folk and Celtic music on the Connecticut airwaves since he was 17. It began when he started programming bluegrass music at WSHU in 1973. He then enjoyed a brief stint as a commercial rock DJ before joining WPKN in Bridgeport in 1978, where he was a bluegrass programmer for over 30 years and a member of the WPKN Board of Directors for 19 years. He has spent a huge portion of his life married to music and the opportunities it has created for him. He comes to us with a strong managerial background having run a small traditional record label, Mad River Records, which he started in 2006 and managing the Playhouse on the Green Performing Arts Center in Bridgeport.
Chris is also an accomplished musician and a guitar teacher and played the guitar with bluegrass band HOE.
