We are extremely proud to announce that WAMU’s Bluegrass Country has won the National Association of Broadcaster’s HD Radio Multicast Award for 2009. Each year, the NAB awards this prestigious honor to one station for it’s “ability to create innovative or groundbreaking programming” on a multicast HD channel. The award will be presented during the NAB Radio Luncheon, sponsored by ASCAP, on Friday, September 25 during the NAB Radio Show in Philadelphia.
Caryn Mathes, WAMU’s General Manager, had this to say about the honor:
“For Bluegrass Country to receive this recognition just two years after its launch on 88.5-2 is very gratifying,” said WAMU 88.5 General Manager Caryn G. Mathes. “This honor is a salute to the entire WAMU 88.5 staff, which has embraced Bluegrass Country as an important part of our station’s content and demonstrated its support by working to improve and expand the service.”
