Jack Cooke, long-time bass player and singer with Ralph Stanley’s Clinch Mountain Boys, died on Tuesday, December 1st at the age of 72.
Jack played with such notable musicians as Bill Monroe, Earl Taylor, the Stonemans, Jim Lauderdale, and the Stanley Brothers, but his longest and most successful tenure in a band was with the Clinch Mountain Boys with whom he shared the stage for 39 years.
Jack was a shining light to the bluegrass community and will be forever missed.
