Bluegrass Review
New bluegrass dominates the beginning of the broadcast. Our Gem of Bluegrass is a study of the song “Log Cabin in the Lane” which exists in many variants. Later, we talk to Donna Ulisse, Nashville-based songwriter and singer. Donna writes on unusual subject matter. Plus we play some certifiable classics. We also found one more Merle Haggard song done as a bluegrass song. . If you want to contact host Phil Nusbaum, the email address is pnusbaum@bitstream.net.

Guests Darin & Brooke Aldridge will provide their comments about their new self titled CD on this week’s edition. This will be the official radio debut the recording which will be released January 19th. The recording was produced by Jerry Salley who also adds to the vocals on several tracks. East Public Relations’ Kimberly Williams reports that “audiences in every venue have been stunned by the conviction, commitment, and depth of performances by Darin and Brooke Aldridge. Presenting songs of faith in God and love of each other, their connection with their audiences is extraordinary. Brooke’s voice is powerful and emotional with Darin’s harmony work tightly matched and phrased as only family can do. Compared to a female and male version of the Everly Brothers, Darin and Brooke bring a freshness to traditional bluegrass and bluegrass gospel. It is old but new; still bluegrass but also contemporary acoustic music with perfect instrumentation.” You can learn more at www.DarinAndBrookeAldridge.com. And keep those hymn books at the ready for the sing along at the beginning of the third hour as usual.
