Bluegrass Review – #1143
Our program begins with some songs reflecting odd notions of the concept “justice.” The its time for the Gem of Bluegrass, which reflects on bluegrass songs set in places peoples call the middle of nowhere. Later, we present an amusing juxtaposition of songs. Years ago, there was a hit country song, “Jolene” where a married woman is pleading with Jolene to keep her hands of the married woman’s husband. We play the bluegrass version by Rhonda Vincent, and follow it with a new song by Nu-Blu which tells Jolene’s side of the story! Then it’s time for our interview with Scott Anderson, banjoist from Gainesville, FL. Scott plays some interesting pieces for us, and tells of his musical inspirations.
We’re asking listeners to suggest Bluegrass to be Thankful for to be aired about Thanksgiving. This is the bluegrass that really moves listeners. To tell us which songs you are thankful for, and why, use the contact link at www.bluegrassreview.com or on Facebook. If you want to contact host Phil Nusbaum, the email address is pnusbaum@bitstream.net. The playlist is located at www.bluegrassreview.com.
