WAMU’s Bluegrass Country and the DC chapter of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann (CCE) are giving away historical CCE t-shirts!
Dublin-based Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann (CCE) is the largest, single, non-profit group involved in the preservation and promotion of Irish traditional music and culture. Started in 1951, CCE now has branches all over the world. The O’Neill Malcom Branch primarily serves the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Every year the DC Chapter hosts the CCE Irish Folk Festival, which will be held on Saturday, Sept. 25th from noon to 6PM in Fairfax, VA. This festival celebrates the local Irish community, including the dance schools (many including audience participation), musical groups and individual performers. The festival also features internationally-acclaimed performers to round out the program.
