WAMU’s Bluegrass Country and BlackRock Center for the Arts are giving away a pair of tickets to period folk group, Hesperus, performing with the classic Buster Keaton film “The General”! In a BlackRock first, the award-winning Hesperus plays live accompaniment to Buster Keaton’s silent masterpiece, The General, lauded by critics as one of the greatest films of all time. The score includes music from the American Civil War, including Stephen Foster’s Hard Times and Beautiful Dreamer, performed by the gifted Hesperus musicians on period folk instruments. “Engaging stage presence, backed by programs put together with exceptional imagination … irresistible!” (Washington Post)
