This week during Open Mic, we’ll air two back-to-back episodes of Woodsongs, a new show that we’re considering adding to our regular lineup. Lovers of Open Mic’s live music need not despair, because folksinger Michael Johnathan’s program consists entirely of live performances. But here’s the catch: in order to decide whether or not we want to run the program regularly, we need all of the feedback we can get!
Hosted and produced by Michael Johnathan, Woodsongs features performances from folk, bluegrass, and Americana musicians recorded in front of a live audience at the Kentucky Theatre in Lexington, KY. In the first hour of the show, we’ll hear the king of newgrass himself, Sam Bush, followed in the next hour by performances from bluegrass family band Cherryholmes and pianist Kenny White.
We’d love to hear what YOU think about Woodsongs. So, give it a listen, on Saturday at 6 a.m. ET, Monday at 5 a.m. ET, Thursday at 3 a.m. ET, or on Friday at 6 p.m. ET, and let us know what you think by clicking here and sending us a short message with your thoughts!
And if you can’t tune in to our regular Open Mic time slot and would still like to register an opinion, you can hear archived Woodsongs shows on the shows website here.
