We’ll be celebrating the bluegrassically momentous months of May and June, 1972, when among other things, Opryland opens in Nashville to a crowd of 10,000, Randy Wood, Tut Taylor, and Ginger Boatwright open the Old Time Pickin’ Parlor in Nashville, The Seldom Scene appears at the Indian Springs Bluegrass Festival, their first appearance at a venue of that ilk. Gloria Belle, Kenny Ingram, and Ronnie Prevette join Jimmy Martin’s Sunny Mountain Boys, and Tut Taylor, Larry Sparks, Norman Blake, The Osborne Brothers, and Lester Flatt fire off some righteous tunes. We’ll be revealing in the four decade old historicity of it all.
