Dudley Connell joined Lee Michael Demsey and Katy Daley for an in-depth conversation about growing up bluegrass in the Washington, D.C. area, and his music leading up to and including his years with the Johnson Mountain Boys. The results is an incredible three-hour show which airs on the Bluegrass Master Class Sunday, February 21 from 3 to 6pm ET on WAMU's Bluegrass Country. The program includes a rare recording of a teen-aged Dudley playing with Buzz Busby. You'll also hear songs from the very first JMB recording, mastered late one night by Gary Henderson in the WAMU studios many, many years ago. We've already set a date in March to cover his work with Longview and the Seldom Scene.
