It’s our first special summer show with Lyle Lofgren and Adam Granger. Lyle is a long time collector of music, and as a member of the Minnesota Folk Song Society, issued an lp of Charlie Poole in the early 60s! Today he plays in a Minneapolis old time string band, the Brandy Snifters. Adam is the writer of the standard reference for playing old time fiddle tunes on the guitar, as well as a performing and recording artist. Today, Lyle, Adam and host Phil Nusbaum deal with songs about wrecks. Although this type of song is as popular as ever, there are few being composed today. Plus, we play a little new music, and a Mac Wiseman song for which listening is its own reward because of the turns in its plot. The playlist is located at www.bluegrassreview.com.
