We got this email from Barry Kozak!
“If my memory serves me well, the Seldom Scene concert dates from February, 1980 (possibly 2/9/1980). I listened to it by cable from Charlottesville, VA, where I was attending the University of Virginia. It was a snowy weekend, and I was happy to be listening to the ‘Scene. This concert roughly coincided with the release of the Act IV LP. I believe I attended the Johnson Mountain Boys concert. It was held on Saturday, March 8, 1986, at Fairfax High School. If I’m not mistaken, the JMB shared the stage with the Nashville Bluegrass Band and Peter Rowan.I’d love to hear more bluegrass music from the late 1970s and early 1980s. Bill Harrell and the Virginians, the Heights of Grass, East Virginia, Wayne Yates and Company– a few of the groups that were quite popular 30 years ago, or so. I miss them and wish I could hear them again.”
