Facts about our programs
Currently we air more than 70 hours of original programming a week.
- Our live programming is offered weekdays in the morning and evening in the local Washington, DC area. You can e-mail the host for a song request, hear interviews with artists in real time, and get information about bluegrass and Americana music as it happens.
- LIVE PERFORMANCES! During these live shows we occasionally have musicians perform live for you.
- Friday, Saturday, and Sunday has its share of live programming too, including Stained Glass Bluegrass with Bob Webster, The Ray Davis Show on Sunday, and a Friday evening contemporary show.
How can I listen?
- On the internet: Click on the Listen links or the registration links in the left column.
- On HD Radio in the Washington, D.C., area at 88.5-2: You need an HD radio receiver to get this signal. Currently we are on channel 3, but will move to the stereo signal, channel 2 on September 17. Read more about HD here.
I used to listen to bluegrass on WAMU 88.5 in my car, how can I do that now?
- There are several manufacturers who provide HD radio for your car.
I listen on the internet. How is that programming different from WAMU 88.5’s HD-2?
- BluegrassCountry.org and WAMU 88.5-2 broadcast the exact same signal at the exact same time. There is no difference between the two, only the method in which you listen.
