In the past three years Dailey & Vincent have taken home 13 IBMA awards, including 3 for entertainer of the year. They talk with Katy about the planning it took to begin the group and their latest achievement, a Grammy nomination.
The week before Thanksgiving Mike Compton & Joe Newberry. stopped by our Washington DC studio to visit with Katy Daley. Joe is a multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter whose playing links the old-time and bluegrass communities. He is also an instructor at Augusta Heritage in Elkins, West Virginia. Mandolinist Mike Compton is recognized as an authority on the Bill Monroe style. He has won multiple awards including two grammy’s with the Nashville Bluegrass Band and has played with all the top names in bluegrass.
