WAMU’s Bluegrass Country is celebrating 45 years of great music on WAMU! You can help keep Bluegrass Country on the air for decades to come by naming WAMU’s Bluegrass Country as a beneficiary in your will, IRA, life insurance, or other instrument. Many charitable arrangements will allow you to support WAMU’s Bluegrass Country while providing tax benefits to you and your family.
Should you wish to include WAMU’s Bluegrass Country in your will, the following language may assist you and your attorney in preparing your bequest to American University for the benefit of the station:
LANGUAGE YOUR ATTORNEY WILL NEED
“I hereby give, devise and bequeath ____ (a specific dollar amount, percentage of the residue of your estate, or a specific asset such as a bank account, stock, or piece of real estate) to American University, a Congressionally-chartered, non-profit institution for higher education located at 4400 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC, Federal Tax ID# 53-0196549. The funds shall be used to support WAMU’s Bluegrass Country, American University Radio. If, at the date of my death, American University or its successor is not a charitable organization, then this distribution shall lapse.”

If you’ve already named WAMU’s Bluegrass Country in your will or other plan, please tell us! We’d be honored to welcome you as a member of WAMU’s 1961 Society.
