2018 IBMA Music Awards

North Carolina bluegrass band Balsam Range was a big winner at the 2018 bluegrass music awards, presented by the International Bluegrass Music Association.  The band took home the prestigious Entertainer of the Year award, and two members got individual honors.  Fiddler Buddy Melton was named Male Vocalist of the Year, and Tim Surrett is Bass Player of the Year.

The annual awards show is a highlight of World of Bluegrass, the IBMA convention and festival in Raleigh, NC.  Awards were presented at a ceremony on September 27, and include honors for individual vocalists and instrumentalists, bands, and recordings.  Here’s a roster of the 2018 winners:
