Bluegrass Country and the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) have established a media partnership to grow the audience for bluegrass music.

Under the partnership, Bluegrass Country will promote IBMA programs and events on the air and through its online resources, while IBMA will raise awareness of Bluegrass Country radio throughout its global membership to increase the listener base.

The IBMA is a non-profit membership organization that connects bluegrass performers, professionals, enthusiasts and fans, to keep the musical traditional alive while encouraging innovation and expanding the bluegrass community worldwide.

The association sponsors World of Bluegrass, its annual professional development conference and trade show, together with the Bluegrass Live! festival that last year attracted over 200,000 listeners to downtown Raleigh, NC.  It presents the annual Bluegrass Music Awards, honoring the top performers and performances as well as recognizing industry leadership.  The IBMA Foundation supports programs and initiatives that focus on bluegrass-related arts, culture and education, including scholarships and grants for in-school programs.

For a number of years, Bluegrass Country has sponsored artist showcases at World of Bluegrass, and this year plans to broadcast selected events from the conference.   “We’re very pleased to be working with IBMA,” said Bluegrass Country Foundation marketing chairman Randy Barrett. “There are so many areas of interest that Bluegrass Country and the association share that it’s a natural fit.”
