Congratulations to the bluegrass artists, songwriters and producers nominated for the 2020 Grammy Awards
Nominees for Best Bluegrass Album are:
- Tall Fiddler – Michael Cleveland
- Live in Prague, Czech Republic – Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver
- Toil, Tears & Trouble – The Po’ Ramblin’ Boys
- Royal Traveller – Missy Raines
- If You Can’t Stand the Heat – Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen
Bluegrass artists also received nominations in other categories.
The Jerry Salley-produced compilation Gonna Sing, Gonna Shout! is nominated for Best Gospel Roots Album. Artists on the album include Dave Adkins, High Road, Marty Raybon, The Whites, Claire Lynch, Bradley Walker, Cox Family, Kenny & Amanda Smith, Larry Cordle, Jerry Salley, Justin Moses, Aaron McDaris, Jason Roller, and Mike Bub.
Nominees for Best American Roots Performance include Rhiannon Giddens with Francesco Turrisi for I’m On My Way, and I’m With Her (Sara Watkins, Sarah Jarosz and Aoife O’Donovan) for Call My Name. Giddens is also part of the Our Native Daughters project, whose song “Black Myself” is nominated for Best American Roots Song. I’m With Her’s “Call My Name” is also nominated in that category.
Argentina-based Che Apalache is nominated in the Best Folk Album category for Rearrange My Heart.
The Grammy Awards ceremony will be held January 26, 2020, broadcast live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
