
Bluegrass Country Founders Celebration
The Bluegrass Country Foundation is honoring two of its founders, Gary Henderson and Dick Spottswood
Gary and Dick, as well as a number of current and past on-air host will be on hand to celebrate and reminisce about the 55 years of bluegrass music broadcast by WAMU.

- Location: Lucketts Community Center
- Lunch will be served
- Due space limits, invited guests only
Other activities during the event will include:
- Entertainment by Bluestone, a Maryland-based, hard-driving, traditional band formed in the early 1990’s.
- The presentation of the Washington Monument Award by the DC Bluegrass Union (DCBU)
- A “State of the Station” address
- Kick-off of the Henderson/Spottswood Founders Endowment
After the event, the DCBU will host a bluegrass jam and Lucketts Bluegrass Foundation will host a free outdoor concert, featuring Crandall Creek, an up and coming West Virginia-based band. Seating will be reserved for attendees of the Founders Celebration.
