IBMA 2024 Bluegrass Music Awards

Authentic Unlimited, a band formed in late 2021 by former members of Doyle Lawson’s Quicksilver, was a multiple winner at the 2024 IBMA Music Awards show. The band won Vocal Group of the Year, its song “Fall in Tennessee” took Song of the Year honors and was co-winner of the Video of the Year, and Jesse Brock was named Mandolin Player of the Year.

As usual, there were also multiple McCourys among the award winners. The Del McCoury Band won Entertainer of the Year, the Travelin’ McCourys won Instrumental Group of the Year, Rob McCoury was named Banjo Player of the Year and Cody Kilby won Guitar Player of the Year.

The awards were presented during the IBMA World of Bluegrass in Raleigh, NC on September 26. IBMA inducted three new members to the Bluegrass Hall of Fame: banjoist Alan Munde, long-time WAMU and Bluegrass Country producer and host Katy Daley, and resophonic guitar virtuoso Jerry Douglas.

The award winners are selected by the professional members of IBMA, the nonprofit professional organization for the global bluegrass music community. Here’s a full list of winners.
