Brad Kolodner is a full-time musician who plays clawhammer banjo, old-time fiddle, and guitar. Rooted in the traditions of Appalachian folk music, Brad is an avid promoter and ambassador for old-time, bluegrass and American roots music. He tours throughout the region in a duet with his father, world-renowned hammered dulcimer player and old-time fiddler Ken Kolodner. Ken & Brad’s first album as a duo, Otter Creek, was the #1 most played instrumental album on the Folk-DJ Radio charts in 2011.
Brad graduated from Ithaca College in 2012 with a degree in Television/Radio where he hosted a folk show on WICB called “The Hobo’s Lullaby.”
Brad is a member of the group Charm City Junction and former Strathmore Artist in Residence. He lives in Baltimore where he teaches banjo at his music studio.
Brad Kolodner hosts two shows on Bluegrass Country. The Brad Kolodner Show features a mix of contemporary and progressive bluegrass with the occasional dose of old-time and American roots music.
The Old Time Jam makes old-time music new again, with the best in traditional and contemporary bands playing and singing this classic American musical style. From the legends and masters, to the younger generation keeping the music alive and pushing the boundaries of the tradition, Brad plays it all.
