The Trail Ride, hosted by the Griot, aka Fred Carter, is a roots music journey like no other! This musical road trip begins in southwest Louisiana/southeast Texas with an infectious Zydeco two-step a Cajun waltz and Country line dance all the way to New Orleans.
Who dat talkin’ ’bout roots music? A Rebirth second-line, the imaginative force of Trombone Shorty, the funky grooves of the Meters, Dr John’s wit, the ballads of Allen Toussaint are all destinations explored through Wynton’s ode to tradition. Mahalia Jackson inspires the traveler after an encounter with Robert Johnson’s blues.
