Not many bluegrass bands get into the pages of Rolling Stone, but Asheville’s Town Mountain made the cut for the band’s ability to merge a rock ‘n roll sensibility into straight-ahead bluegrass.  The magazine praised the band’s “one basic goal: deliver a rousing, engaging and sometimes challenging live performance.”

See what they mean when Town Mountain comes to The Hamilton Live at 600 14th St. NW in downtown Washington on Saturday, October 23.

Raw, soulful, and with plenty of swagger, Town Mountain has earned raves for their hard-driving sound, their in-house songwriting and the honky-tonk edge that permeates their exhilarating live performances.  Guitarist and vocalist Robert Greer, banjoist Jesse Langlais, mandolinist Phil Barker, fiddler Bobby Britt, and bassist Zach Smith base their sound on the first and second generations of bluegrass spiced with country, old school rock ‘n’ roll, and boogie-woogie.
